Douglas Peacock

Founded the first community group on the land 15 years ago. So have learned what works and what doesn’t and have seen it flourish with all the work the community has achieved.

Been a member of the local North Kelvin Community Council for 14 years and have been elected Chair for many years. This is an important role as it bridges the gap between community groups and the Council. It also gets involved in many other issues within the area that sometimes then become issues for this land. The monthly meetings are attended by Council officials and the Police which again are good bodies to link into and have a relationship with.

Spent 8 years on the Woodland Trust Scotland strategy committee group. This involved all aspects of delivering the mission for the Woodland Trust in Scotland.
Have participated in many other conservation volunteering roles over 20+ years. Notable are with Trees For Life up in the Highlands of Scotland and anti-rhino poaching in Southern Africa.

Won the Scotland Employee Volunteer of the Year award in 2016.
Have a professional background in Finance and Accountancy.
